We are a quick- growing food manufacturing company currently establishing a new production facility in the Calgary area.

The company is backed by an experienced leadership team with a strong track record in the industry, focusing on high-quality food production and scalable operations in the North American market.

As the business continues to expand, they are building out their core team and looking for detail-oriented professionals to support day-to-day operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for recruitment, employee lifecycle management, HR administration, performance management, employee relations, training coordination, HR policy development and enforcement, and workplace health & safety HR-related administration.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working closely with both office and production teams in a growing manufacturing operation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

- Support workforce planning and staffing coordination with department managers
- Perform full-cycle recruitment for manufacturing and office positions based on approved headcount requirements
- Manage job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and other recruitment activities
- Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation processes
- Maintain recruitment trackers, hiring records, and recruitment-related documentation

2. Employee Lifecycle Administration

- Administer employee onboarding, probation reviews, employee status changes, and offboarding processes
- Maintain and update employee information in payroll, office automation system, group benefits, and other internal systems to ensure accurate and timely records management
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation throughout the employee lifecycle in compliance with company policies and employment regulations
- Maintain HR data tracking and prepare HR reports
- Prepare employment letters and other HR-related documentation as needed
- Support HR projects, process improvements,



and other departmental initiatives as assigned

3. Attendance, Payroll & Benefits Administration

- Monitor employee attendance, timekeeping, overtime, and leave records, and assist employees with payroll, attendance, and leave-related inquiries
- Review and maintain attendance data to support accurate payroll processing
- Process payroll in coordination with the Finance team
- Administer group benefits enrollment, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries. Liaise with benefits providers to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of payroll and benefits records

4. Training & Policy Administration

- Coordinate internal training programs, new hire onboarding training, and compliance-related training initiatives
- Maintain training records, completion tracking, and related documentation
- Support the implementation, communication, interpretation, and consistent application of company policies and procedures
- Assist with updating employee policies, handbook materials, workplace notices, and employee acknowledgment records

5. Employee Relations

- Serve as a point of contact for employee HR inquiries and workplace concerns.
- Handle employee relations matters and conduct workplace investigations as needed.
- Support managers in addressing employee performance, attendance, conduct, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies and employment standards
- Support employee engagement and workplace communication initiatives. Promote a positive, respectful, and compliant workplace culture

6. Performance Management

- Support implementation of performance management programs and employee development initiatives
- Coordinate performance review documentation and follow-up actions
- Assist managers with performance improvement processes and employee coaching documentation




- Track performance review timelines and maintain related records

7. Health & Safety / WCB Administration

- Support workplace health & safety programs and related documentation
- Coordinate incident reporting and WCB claim administration
- Maintain safety records, training records, and required compliance documentation
- Assist with modified work coordination and return-to-work administration
- Support ongoing compliance with occupational health & safety requirements
- Participate in Health & Safety Committee activities and support workplace safety initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS

- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPHR designation is considered an asset; equivalent experience and/or education will also be considered.
- 1-3 years of experience in HR administration, coordination, or generalist functions.
- Experience in manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or industrial environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong recruitment and talent acquisition skills, preferably in manufacturing or operational environments.
- Working knowledge of Alberta employment legislation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational, time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience working with HRIS, payroll, and other HR-related systems.
- Professional working proficiency in both English and Mandarin is required

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Combination of office and manufacturing plant environment
- Regular interaction with production, warehouse, and office employees in a fast-paced operational setting
- May require occasional presence on the production floor to support employee relations, onboarding, training, safety, and operational needs
- Occasional flexibility in working hours may be required to support different shifts, recruitment activities, or operational needs

Location: Cross Iron Area, north of Calgary. Public transit is limited in the area, and you may need your own vehicle for daily commuting.
