About the OpportunityWe represent a long-established, privately held group of companies with a long history in commercial and residential real estate, large-scale land development, civil construction, and infrastructure.The organization has a multi-generational history in Victoria and has grown into a diversified business that includes several operating companies, significant real estate holdings, land assets, and private investment activities held through a multi-entity structure.The group is seeking a senior executive to join the organization as part of a planned succession process involving the current CFO.This hands‐on role offers the opportunity to work closely with the existing senior management team, ownership and the current CFO as responsibilities transition over time.The RoleThe successful candidate will serve as a key advisor to the senior management team and ownership, with responsibility across:A substantial residential and commercial real estate portfolioLand holdings and private investment structuresThree vertically integrated operating companies in land development, infrastructure, and civil and building constructionThe role combines senior finance leadership with meaningful hands‐on operational involvement and participation in broader investment stewardship, structuring, and capital allocation decisions. It is expected that responsibilities will expand through a planned transition period.This position calls for an individual who can act as both a strategic advisor and a practical operator, helping to support performance across the operating companies while contributing to long‐term asset management and investment strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingLead financial management across multiple entities, including reporting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, and planningOversee accounting, tax planning, corporate structuring,
and financing arrangementsEnsure solid internal controls and integrity across all financial reportingLead and support internal finance and administrative teams across the organizationStrategy & Capital AllocationSupport capital allocation decisions, strategic initiatives, and growth planning across the groupContribute to investment evaluation, real estate portfolio oversight, and related decision‐makingLead enterprise‐level risk management, integrating financial, operational, and market considerations into long‐range planning.Team & Stakeholder LeadershipPartner with senior management on business performance improvement, systems development, and organizational efficiencyProvide oversight and performance support to the land development, property management, construction, and infrastructure businessesCoordinate with external advisors including legal, tax, banking, and wealth management professionalsProvide direct strategic, financial and operational support to the senior management team and ownershipExperience & QualificationsCPA designation required10+ years of progressive senior finance leadership experienceStrong background in commercial or residential real estate, construction, land development, infrastructure, or other project‐based industriesExperience operating within complex multi‐entity corporate structuresSolid understanding of construction accounting, work‐in‐progress reporting, and project‐based financial reportingKnowledge of corporate structuring, tax planning, financing strategies, and capital managementExperience working closely with senior management, owners, founders, family leadership in privately held companiesExposure to real estate, private investment, or corporate/family office environments is an assetPersonal AttributesEntrepreneurial mindset with strong business judgmentStrategic thinker who remains practical and execution‐focusedComfortable operating in a hands‐on leadership environmentHigh degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretionAbility to balance long‐term thinking with day‐to‐day operational realitiesCollaborative leader who builds credibility and trust across the organizationWillingness and ability to relocate to Victoria, British Columbia #J-18808-Ljbffr
