Position SummaryWe are seeking a full-time Neuropsychiatrist or General Psychiatrist with relevant training and experience to join the multidisciplinary team and oversee the 12-bed Neuropsychiatry Unit at Hillside Centre.The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:Provide comprehensive neuropsychiatric assessments for adults with significant complexityLead the multidisciplinary team (nurses, SW, OT, PT, Psychology, Neuropsychology) and participate in treatment planning conferencesParticipate in BC Neuropsychiatry rounds, held virtually, on a weekly basisAct as a resource for referring psychiatrists/teams and support the transfer of care to partners on dischargeSynthesize and apply a customized biopsychosocial framework,



and translate into care recommendations and plansAdvocate for patients supporting re-integration to their home communitiesParticipate in general psychiatry call at RIHAdditional OpportunitiesOption to provide outpatient care through the community-based Acquired Brain Injury ProgramOpportunities for medical leadership positionsEngagement in research and quality improvement projectsTeaching opportunities for UBC medical students, FP residents, and psychiatry residentsOpportunities for CME activities with colleagues at Royal Inland Hospital and access to funding for projects through the Royal Inland and Hillside Physician Association (RIHPA)Dedicated office space at Hillside Centre and prospect to work with 3 other psychiatristsQualificationsYou'll hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).If you're a US-trained physician with ABMS certification in psychiatry, you may be eligible to practice under the USA certified class.You'll be UCNS Board Certified or Board Eligible in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry, or have relevant training and experience.To practice medicine here, you'll have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association. #J-18808-Ljbffr
