With deep roots in North America and a strong international footprint, Aecon serves public and private sector clients through its Construction and Concessions segment.Role OverviewThe Subcontracts Manager reports to the Sr. Procurement and Subcontract Manager and oversees procurement disciplines for Aecon's Heavy Civils works, maximizing profitability and improving efficiency.What You'll DoOversee and monitor all Subcontract Administration processes at the site level to ensure compliance with Aecon Plans and Policies.Provide functional support for Subcontract Administration and Procurement teams, and support personnel.Maintain the Standard Agreement Documents.Review and approve variations to the procurement and subcontracting process.Provide guidance and training in subcontracts and procurement methodology.Conduct periodic audits of Subcontracts and procurement policy and methodology compliance.Provide guidance, training, and legal review regarding negotiated Agreements and procurement.Manage liens and any legal claims or disputes.Hold ultimate responsibility for commercial dealings with Subcontractors and Suppliers.Support the development of training, competency profiles, and career development of team members.Create, promote, and maintain a secure, open,



and respectful workplace culture and environment.Provide feedback and guidance to direct reports for annual goal setting; support the establishment of individual career development plans and identify training and professional development opportunities.Participate in annual performance reviews (with mid‐year check‐ins) and provide constructive feedback; implement performance improvement plans as needed with support from Human Resources.Establish and leverage cross‐functional relationships to facilitate effective and efficient Subcontract Management processes.Act as a key Subject Matter Expert to external groups to support and improve Project Procurement and Subcontract processes.Oversee the development and implementation of project‐specific Subcontract Management Plans, including coordination and support with project controls, ensuring compliance with contract conditions and Aecon standards.Provide coaching and hands‐on training opportunities to junior team members, adapting teaching styles to suit the audience.Support the development of project‐specific Project Procurement Plans, Subcontract Management, and related tools and templates.Lead project‐level recruitment efforts for new Procurement resources and communicate resource needs with senior leadership.What You BringLegal,



Engineering or Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent preferred.Knowledge of construction law, Construction Act, negotiating and drafting construction contracts.Knowledge of project operations, policies, procedures, and strategic direction.10‐15 years' experience working for a contractor on a large‐scale project.Career progression from quantity surveyor to senior/lead contract administrator would be an asset.Understanding of construction planning, scheduling and management.Experience dealing with labor obligations and their impact on the Project.Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and SAP (Procure to pay).Strong decision‐making ability and negotiation skills.Positions & CompensationTwo (2) positions are available across the Arctic Over the Horizon Radar (AOTH) and the Hamilton LRT projects.Reason for Vacancy: NewPay range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year, based on location, education, experience, skills, and job conditions.Equal Employment OpportunityAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging.
