Adecco is currently recruiting Costume Dressers for the upcoming Cirque du Soleil production in Ottawa. This is a unique opportunity to work backstage with world-class performers and play an essential role in the seamless execution of one of the world's most spectacular live entertainment experiences.If you thrive in fast-paced environments, have costume and wardrobe experience, and enjoy working behind the scenes in live productions, we'd love to hear from you.Pay rate: $25.00/hourLocation: Ottawa, ONShifts: 5 days per week (subject to change according to the show schedule)Job type: Temporary | Part-timeVacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancyHere's why you should apply:4% vacation paid weeklyPaid weekly accurate and on timeStrong health and safety programsMedical and dental benefits once qualifiedFree training programsNew and quicker onboarding processResponsibilities:Presetting all costumes and props backstage during show call according to daily cast changesRunning cue track and assisting artists with dressing and quick changesBeing prepared to quickly answer requests in English coming from artists, wardrobe staff or technical staff under stressful circumstancesMaintaining integrity and safety of all costumes and costume accessories (this includes emergency repairs, alteration work and mending work)Daily washing of costumes (this includes hand wash and machine wash)Daily inspecting of all costumes for holes,



tears or stainsMaintaining a clean and secure work environment (this includes weekly cleaning of backstage dressing areas and all other wardrobe spaces)Helping with the set-up and tear-down of the wardrobe department, dressing rooms, laundry room and stock roomCarrying out all other wardrobe projects and tasks assigned by HOW.Requirements:A minimum of three year of experience as a professional costume dresser with experience in costume repairs on large-scale stage productionsFluency in English (ability to read and speak) is essentialAbility to communicate directly with artists calmly and professionallyGood health and valuable eye-sight necessaryBeing comfortable working in dark, confined spaces for long periods of timeBeing comfortable working under pressure in a stressful and everchanging environmentAbility to use domestic as well as industrial sewing machines and ability to hand stitchAbility to lift and carry weights up to 15kgWearing black clothing (long sleeves, long pants, flat shoes) while on dutyBeing available to work 6 days a week for a total average of 45 hours a weekBeing committed to the whole city run.Ability to kneel frequently.Ability to climb up and down stairs with heavy laundry baskets.Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in CanadaAt Adecco our purpose is simple: to make the future work for everyone.
