Graduate Student Research Associate – Indigenous Language Camps
REGINA, SASKATOON, PRINCE ALBERT
Short‑term position ending August 31, 2026
Responsibilities
Assist with planning and coordinating Indigenous Language Camps.
Support Elders, Knowledge Keepers, language instructors, and participants throughout the project.
Help organize camp logistics, schedules, materials, registrations, and communications.
Assist with the development and implementation of evaluation tools and research activities.
Collect, organize, and analyze participant feedback and project data.
Conduct or assist with interviews and project documentation, as required.
Contribute to post‑camp reports, summaries, and research materials.
Maintain accurate project records while respecting confidentiality, cultural protocols, and informed consent.
Provide guidance to the Student Language Camp Research and Operations Assistant, as requested by the Project Lead.
Perform other related duties in support of the project and as assigned.
Qualifications
Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate degree in Indigenous Studies, Education, Linguistics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
Experience supporting research, project coordination, or community‑based initiatives.
Solid organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience working respectfully with Indigenous communities, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and cultural protocols.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience collecting and analyzing qualitative data and preparing reports.
Available to travel and provide on‑site support during the language camps.
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's licence (or equivalent) required.
Experience with Indigenous language revitalization initiatives and First Aid/CPR certification are considered assets.
Salary
$46.50 per hour
