Seamstress / Tailor

Job Duties
Make custom made-to-measure garments and design patterns to fit measurements for garments including, but not limited to, suits, blouses, jackets, dress shirts, dresses and pants
Mark, cut and sew fabric
Alterations and repairs for everyday wear garments and specialty garments such as formal dresses




Sewing tasks such as hand embroideries, hand sewing bead/sequences, designing, sketching, making layouts
Lead and provide training to alteration staff
Communicate and interact with customers
Make key alteration decisions

Job Descriptions
Minimum of 10 years of direct experience required
Completion of college, vocational or technical training in tailoring or dressmaking required
Ability to sew, style and fit garments
Must be patient and able to work efficiently using industrial machines
Knowledge of invisible mending and hand sew is preferred
Ability to work afternoons, evenings and weekends required
Specialization in suits, dress shirts and formal dresses
Speak fluent English
Ability to provide training
