Job OverviewIsland Health's Department of Cardiology seeks two full time Cardiologists to join existing cardiologists, cardiac internists, and intensivists at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. The role will help establish a Heart Health Division in Nanaimo as part of the 20-member Division of Cardiology in Victoria.ResponsibilitiesProvide acute cardiology consultation for hospitalists and other specialty groups.Interpret echocardiography (requires Canadian level 2 training or higher with currency), Holter,



and ECG studies.Supervise nuclear perfusion imaging.Perform pericardiocentesis and DC cardioversions.Conduct rapid cardiac assessment clinics.Follow up with patients in a private office and fulfill routine administrative duties.Participate in cardiology division meetings and other relevant meetings.Adhere to a call schedule of 1:5–1:6.QualificationsHold the FRCPC Cardiology designation or be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Internal Medicine and Cardiology exams.Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.Preferably have experience in a coronary care unit and in acute and office‐based cardiology.Be eligible for provisional licensure with the CPSBC.Start DateAs soon as possible. #J-18808-Ljbffr
