About Vela Canada
Vela Canada supports people with disabilities and their circles of support to build more self-directed lives through Microboards, Individualized Funding, and Person-Centred Societies.
What You'll Do
Provide 1:1 guidance to individuals and families exploring Microboards and/or Individualized Funding.
Explain the key steps, roles, and expectations involved in setting up and sustaining a Microboard or Person-Centred Society.
Support members with practical tools and resources (e.g., hiring basics, planning templates, documentation guidance, and transparent next steps).
Coordinate workshops and webinars, track participation, and follow up with attendees to support ongoing progress.
Maintain accurate case notes and tracking, identify recurring needs or trends, and recommend improvements to resources and supports.
Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to ensure members receive consistent, accurate, and coordinated guidance.
What We're Looking For
2+ years of experience in community support, disability services, non-profit programming, or a related field.
Robust written and verbal communication skills, with confidence guiding families through multi-step and sometimes complex processes.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple member requests and priorities simultaneously.
Familiarity with self-directed supports, individualized funding, governance, and/or non-profit basics is an asset.
French/English bilingualism is an asset.
