Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and EXPERIENCED DOSA COOK to join our agile culinary team at Indian Spice - Mississauga. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent food handling skills, and a commitment to maintaining food safety standards. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A COOK AT A SOUTH INDIAN RESTAURANT IS MANDATORY (SHOULD KNOW HOW TO COOK DOSA AND OTHER MENU ITEMS). PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCED IN MAKING DOSAS.
Duties
Prepare ingredients and assist in food preparation according to recipes and standards
Cook menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and timely service
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment
Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
Assist with meal assembly and plating for service
Support other kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Stock and restock supplies as needed, ensuring proper storage of ingredients
Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
Prior experience in food service, South Indian restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling practices
Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Strong teamwork skills and valuable communication abilities
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings if required
Passion for the food industry and a desire to grow culinary skills

Pay: $17.60-$18.50 per hour
