Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. With one hiring position available, we are looking for one person who has experience in running a flagging crew and willing to help expand our flagging operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic around road work areas. You will be following a powerline crew performing contamination removal on distribution poles across Alberta. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities
Direct and control vehicle and pedestrian traffic at construction sites or roadwork areas to ensure safety.
Set up and dismantle traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers.
Communicate effectively with drivers and pedestrians to provide explicit instructions.
Monitor traffic flow and adjust control measures as necessary to minimize delays.
Collaborate with construction crews to coordinate safe work zones.
Report any incidents or hazards to the appropriate authorities promptly.
Maintain a explicit understanding of local traffic laws and regulations.
Requirements
2 years minimum experience with traffic control/flagging required
Must have a drivers License
Must have own transportation or way to get to and from shop or job site
Must have CSA approved steel toe boots with 6" heel
Ability to work out of town
First Aid, CSTS is an asset
Skills
Ability to setup barriers for traffic control as needed.
Strong observational skills to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Excellent verbal communication skills for effective interaction with the public and team members.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety.

Job Types: Full time, Part-time, Casual, Seasonal
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
