Additional opportunities include participation in teaching through the Dalhousie University Family Medicine residency program in Yarmouth or with medical students through Dalhousie University. There is also the potential to provide nursing home care, emergency medicine, or join the team of family medicine physicians offering primary maternal care and low-risk deliveries at YRH. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week.
