Our large Oil & Gas industry client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Data Engineer to support a Retail division by designing, building, and maintaining contemporary data pipelines and data platforms that enable reporting, analytics, and business insights.

This is an initial contract to the end of year with a possibility of extension.

The successful candidate will be based in Calgary and agreeable to working full time onsite in the heart of downtown Calgary and provide their own laptop/device upon offer.

Must-Haves: 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Platform Engineer, or similar role Solid hands-on experience with Databricks or Snowflake Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing data performance Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using modern cloud-based data platforms Experience with Python for data engineering, automation, and data transformation Experience working with Azure data services and cloud-based data environments Nice-to-Haves:



Experience supporting Power BI reporting and analytics environments Experience with Delta Lake, Spark, or PySpark Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and source control (Azure Dev

Ops, Git) Experience within Retail, Sales & Marketing, or Oil & Gas environments Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Databricks & Snowflake.

Build and optimize data models to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.

Integrate data from multiple enterprise systems into centralized data platforms.

Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data pipelines.

Optimize data performance, reliability, and scalability across cloud-based environments.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and BI developers to understand data requirements and deliver reliable datasets.
