Support Indigenous youth as a Counsellor focused on mental health. Provide on-site services to First Nations students at Sioux North High School during the school year.
In this full time role, you will engage with students in crisis and develop individualized treatment approaches to promote resilience and coping skills. Your experience with youth counselling and cultural understanding will be critical in addressing their unique challenges. This position involves collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including families and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual counselling and group therapy
• Assess students' mental health needs and create interventions
• Provide emergency crisis response and support
• Develop and lead educational mental health initiatives
• Collaborate with community and school staff for continuous care
Requirements:
• Diploma in mental health or related discipline
• Minimum one year of clinical counselling experience
• Registration with an authorized psychotherapy body
• Training in addictions and trauma-informed care
• Valid driver's license for local travel
