Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Northern Health.
In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, and in accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice, as a member of a multi-disciplinary care team that provides youth and their families with mental health and substance use treatment and supports, the Registered Nurse works as a therapist and case manager to provide clinical services to youth in the Youth Short Term Assessment and Response (Y-STAR) Program, including assessment, planning, treatment, consultation and follow-up.
This position will work in settings where contact with youth at risk can best be established, e.g., street-based, school, and community settings. Providing mental health and substance use services where the focus is maintaining clients in the community as well as enhancing youth treatment and rehabilitation plans through regular and supportive contact. Works in partnership with youth and caregivers, as well as facility managers and staff of relevant community agencies. Participates in planning, program development, policy recommendations, and research and evaluation. Provides community mental health and substance use education.
