This position has oversight of a specific area and acts as a representative of the department ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This role promotes Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The position serves as an Architectural Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs complex architectural assignments, evaluates, selects and applies advanced architectural techniques to a broad set of complex assignments.Job ResponsibilitiesApply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost‐effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering workDevelop and review specifications, including design criteriaParticipate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontractingPerform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems. Should be able to demonstrate basic understanding of structural behavior and design principles.Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements,



and actively seek discrepancy resolutionAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelinesIndicate strong technical interests and background with structural engineering subjects such as design of large structural steel and concrete structures including heavy foundations, seismic engineering, and dynamic analysis of structures supporting vibrating equipment.Capable to undertake structural engineering work related to resource project development and construction, in one or more of the following areas:Performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structuresAnalyzing complex structuresWind and seismic loading in structural calculations (structural)Dynamic analysis and design (structural)Computer modeling and analysis (structural)Procurement and construction aspects of engineeringVendor drawing review, intergroup review – squad checkingEngineering and fabricator drawing checkingManaging and leading a small projectBasic Job RequirementsAccredited two (2) year diploma or global equivalent in applicable field of study and sixteen (16) years of work‐related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty (20) years if no diploma; some locations may haveadditional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAdvanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials,



means and methods of constructionEffort‐hour estimating and staff forecastingEPCM Experience in Medium to Large‐Scale ProjectsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitorsJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time‐conscious and time‐effective mannerPlanning and project execution skillsAbility/experience of preparing Architectural design criteria and specifications.Ability/experience of preparing scope of work to support building request for quote (RFQ) purchase order (PO).Ability/experience of technical bid evaluation (TBE) of building bidsAbility/experience of managing building PO'sPreferred QualificationsManaging and leading a large projectProject set‐up, developing control‐level schedules, progress reporting, and project close‐outPractical field experienceMembership and active participation in external technical societyIntermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e‐mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programsAbility to use discipline specific software may be requiredBenefitsFluor Canada rewards hard work, knowledge, and commitment by offering competitive employee compensation packages and comprehensive benefits.
