Make a difference in Vancouver as an Assistant Manager at FIRST UNITED’s shelter program. Ensure secure operations and support staff in meeting the needs of community members experiencing homelessness.

This onsite role directly aids in the management of shelter services under the Shelter Manager's direction. The Assistant Manager oversees shelter staff, promotes compliance, and facilitates a supportive workplace for vulnerable individuals. Work collaboratively to enhance service quality and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day supervision of shelter team operations
• Enforce compliance with operational policies and procedures
• Manage recruitment and performance reviews of shelter staff




• Collaborate on case management and service provisions
• Ensure overall safety and cleanliness of the shelter

Requirements:
• Degree/diploma alongside 3 years in nonprofit service
• Experience in a unionized setting is required
• Ability to interact compassionately with marginalized individuals
• Certified in NVCI and First Aid/CPR
• Proven leadership within community service settings
