Our client, a leading civil construction firm with decades of experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across British Columbia, is seeking a Civil Estimator to join their team on Vancouver Island. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects, including road construction, underground utilities, bridges, and run-of-river hydroelectric work
Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to develop quantity take-offs and pricing strategies
Utilize estimating software to produce detailed bids and proposals
Identify and pursue bid opportunities in both public and private sectors
Collaborate with the General Manager and other Estimators to review tenders and refine estimates
Maintain databases of suppliers, subcontractors, unit costs, and productivity benchmarks
Participate in pre-construction planning, bid reviews, and post-award project kick-offs
Provide estimating support to project teams during execution, as needed

Ideal Candidate Requirements:
3+ years of experience in civil estimating,



preferably in roadworks, bridges, excavation, underground utilities, or hydro projects
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology; Gold Seal certification is an asset
Proficiency with HeavyBid estimating software; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
Strong grasp of unit costs, labor productivity, and local market pricing
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
