Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant (Korean language skills) in Toronto, ON. This role supports residents in residential care settings under the supervision of a physiotherapist.
Responsibilities
Assist the supervising physiotherapist with components of treatment plans for residents in residential care communities.
Perform prescribed treatments including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and application of modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
Deliver agile, secure, and therapeutically beneficial group exercise classes for residents.
Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments.
Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are secure and tidy.
Maintain regular communication with the physiotherapist regarding changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions.
Record daily treatments in the organization's web-based system.
Qualifications
PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or a related healthcare field.
Previous experience in an LTC setting is an asset.
Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months).
Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.
