Provide essential support for Indigenous students at the Student Wellness Centre. The Indigenous Counsellor role focuses on mental health, offering culturally aware counselling and group therapy services.

As part of the University of Saskatchewan, this key position caters to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students by addressing their mental health needs through comprehensive assessments and crisis intervention. The counsellor plays a vital role in enhancing student wellness, facilitating culturally relevant programming, and collaborating with campus partners.

You will also supervise practicum students and engage in outreach initiatives, making a meaningful impact on the community.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct urgent risk assessments and develop management plans




Provide individual and group psychotherapy sessions
Oversee a clinically appropriate caseload of clients
Engage in culturally relevant outreach and programming
Maintain documentation and collaborate with support services

Requirements:
Master's degree in psychology, education, or social work
Minimum 7 years of post-graduate clinical experience
Experience working with Indigenous clients
Knowledge of crisis intervention and mental health evaluation
Robust communication and interpersonal skills
