Location: North Bay or Toronto, ON
Specific Responsibilities
Underwrite recent business, renewals, and endorsements in accordance with established authority, underwriting guidelines, and service standards.
Evaluate risk quality, coverage requirements, pricing, terms, and conditions for commercial accounts.
Develop and maintain robust broker relationships through timely communication and practical underwriting solutions.
Contribute to portfolio retention and profitable growth through effective negotiation and sound account management.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business objectives and service commitments.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years of commercial lines underwriting experience.
CIP designation, or active progress toward completion, is considered an asset.
Proficiency with underwriting systems, rating tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
Skills and Competencies
Solid knowledge of commercial lines underwriting principles,
risk assessment, pricing, and coverage analysis.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
Robust organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Strong account analysis and portfolio management skills.
Customer-focused approach with the ability to understand, address, and resolve broker and client concerns effectively.
