The Registered Nurse's primary focus on B4/B4ICU is the provision of highly skilled patient focused care to respiratory, high intensity and medical patients. Nurses will function collaboratively in a primary nursing setting as part of a professional multidisciplinary patient care team. In addition to promoting excellence of care the nurse will actively demonstrate effective communication skills, problem solving, conflict resolution and interpersonal/team building skills. The integration of research findings into practice, the pursuit of education opportunities and active participation in unit activities are supported and strongly encouraged.
Qualifications/Skills
Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
Current B.C.L.S.
B.Sc.N. preferred
Experience in an acute care setting preferred
Critical Care Certificate Level II,
required from accredited recognized institution
Successful completion of departmental quiz with passing score of minimum 80%
Demonstrated commitment to Person-Centred care approaches and principles
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to set priorities in a team-oriented, rapid-paced environment
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent patient assessment skills
Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a secure and inclusive environment for all
Commitment to person-centred care concepts principles along with demonstrated ability to work as a member of an inter-skilled team
