As the Corporate General Counsel at FMB, you will bring over 10 years of legal experience to ensure compliance with the First Nations Fiscal Management Act. You will provide strategic legal advice and oversee external legal counsel while supporting governance activities. Your role will promote a culture of ethics and accountability across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice aligned with FMB's mission - Draft and negotiate legal documents and contracts - Monitor legislative changes affecting compliance - Support Board governance and onboarding of Directors - Represent FMB in legal proceedings and negotiations
Requirements: - LLB or JD;
practicing member in positive standing - 10+ years of legal experience in a regulatory or corporate setting - Knowledge of Indigenous law and public policy - Expertise in corporate governance and ATIP matters - Excellent communication skills in English;
