Our client, a leading infrastructure contractor, is seeking a Commercial Director (Rail) to join their Major Projects team in Vancouver, BC / Toronto, ON locations. Salary $225,000-275,000.Commercial Director (Rail) OverviewReporting to the Vice President, Project Controls, the Commercial Director is responsible for the overall commercial management of a major Project or group of Projects. The Commercial Director (Rail) manages the commercial and project control functions of the project including procurement, subcontract administration, main contract administration, change and claims management, cost control and schedule.Essential functions and responsibilities include:Manage Commercial and Project Control matters of major projects including Change Management, Procurement, Prime Contract management, Cost Control, Earned Value Management, Scheduling and Risk managementDevelop and enforce commercial/project controls policies, processes and proceduresAdvise on commercial strategy for successful project executionProvide commercial and contractual advice and reports to Executives and Project ManagersLead all claims and change management with respect to clients and subcontractorsLeadership, training and development of commercial/project controls staffInput into bid phases including commercial review and risk analysis of contractsRepresent the company, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the company, in negotiations or other official functionsCommercial management of designers and the design processOther duties and responsibilities include being part of the executive team on a major Design Build Project or within the Corporate head office (with regular travel)
