You As An Energy Analyst, Energy Modelling Will
Improve sustainability and energy efficiency in the built environment
Develop and calibrate energy models to predict future energy consumption, quantify the impact of energy efficiency projects and compare our performance relative to our contractual energy guarantees
Develop and maintain detailed building energy models (using tools like eQUEST, EnergyPlus, IES) to predict the impact of various HVAC, lighting, and building envelope upgrades
Calibrate energy models based on actual weather and metered data
Implement M&V; protocols to track the actual performance of energy conservation measures against projected savings.
Be a member of highly technical teams committed to investigating and optimizing energy efficiency and cost saving measures
Provide recommendations to improve building performance and efficiency
Perform analysis of facilities to optimize energy performance and tenant comfort to meet facility or contract objectives
Extract, analysis and interpret energy and building system data
Develop a thorough understanding of all submetering, building automation, and mechanical and electrical systems
Explore opportunities to implement energy savings measures in various buildings
Conduct savings analysis of energy retrofit projects
Develop tools to visualize building energy trends in data visualization software’s (e.g., PowerBI)
Present energy related building trends via reports and presentations to external and internal stakeholders
Perform building energy audits of building energy models and develop thorough client reports outlining year-over-year energy consumption and performance
Is this the right role for you?
1-5 years of related experience
Background in mechanical, electrical or building engineering (diploma or undergraduate degree)
Background in energy modelling (preferably EnergyPlus, eQuest, and/or IES)
Engineering and/or energy related credentials (e.g., CEM, CMVP, P.Eng, C.E.T, EIT. etc.)
Familiar with engineering and construction documentation (e.g., schematics, shop drawings, floor plans, etc.)
Strong background in HVAC and building automation systems
Strong analytical and presentation skills
Proficiency in the use of MS Office
Understanding of computer programming languages (e.g., Python, Visual Basics)
Understanding of API and SQL query languages is considered an asset
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $75,000
