Position Summary
The Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is a Registered Nurse who serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. The CRN is responsible for coordinating and leading care delivery, upholding the standard of care, and fostering a therapeutic environment that addresses the biopsychosocial needs of patients, clients, and residents. The role requires collaboration with leadership and staff to resolve care and safety issues, and it supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the Interlake‑Eastern Regional Health Authority.
Qualifications
Current active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
Baccalaureate Nursing Degree is an asset.
Knowledge of the organization’s programs, processes, structures, and systems.
Knowledge of provincial and regional initiatives to enhance patient safety and care.
Knowledge of the nursing process.
Awareness of current clinical trends and best practices related to respective clinical areas.
Minimum three years of applicable clinical nursing experience within the past five years, specific to the unit of supervision.
Evidence of management and/or nursing leadership experience and/or education.
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
Competence in demonstrating clinical nursing skills and concepts in accordance with approved nursing standards.
Ability to make effective decisions regarding nursing care.
Proficiency with Windows-based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Effective problem‑solving and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Leadership, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers and clients.
Demonstrated capacity to foster an interdisciplinary collaborative workplace that supports quality improvement, client interaction, intervention, and staff development.
Respect for diversity, including economic and social status, race, culture, beliefs, and sexuality.
Knowledge and respect for various cultures, including Indigenous cultures, and experience working effectively with First Nations people.
Ability to engage and collaborate with patients and families to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Good physical, emotional, and mental health to meet the demands of the position, including the ability to provide frequent lifts, carries, and transfers.
Multilingual communication is considered an asset; proficiency in both official languages is essential for designated bilingual positions.
Completion of a satisfactory pre‑employment security check.
