Empower students in their career paths as a District Work Experience Teacher with School District 84. This role involves teaching trades and work experience at Gold River Secondary School.
Beginning September 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, this full time position focuses on students in grades 7-12. Candidates will develop and maintain essential workplace partnerships, manage student learning outcomes, and oversee safety certification processes. Strong commitment to collaborative teamwork and effective classroom management is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments and instruction on work experience
• Ensure student safety and progress during workplace visits
• Maintain detailed student record tracking for placements
• Develop strong relationships with businesses and community partners
• Organize events related to career exploration and skilled trades
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education or equivalent
• Valid BC Teacher Certification and First Aid Certification
• Preferred Journeyperson certification or related experience
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Class 4 driver's license required for student visits
