Overview Huron University invites applications for the position of Manager, Community Safety. Huron is a post-secondary institution in Canada focused on redefining Liberal Arts education with an emphasis on ethical leadership, community engagement, and academic excellence.
The Manager, Community Safety leads initiatives that promote a safe, respectful, and supportive campus environment. Reporting to the Dean of Students, this role monitors developments in campus and student safety, including best practices, legislation, and emerging trends, and ensures programs, services, policies, and procedures remain current and aligned with leading practices across the post-secondary sector. The Manager implements community safety programs, identifies potential risks, responds to incidents, and conducts investigations related to student conduct, safety concerns, and policy violations.
Responsibilities Lead initiatives that promote a safe, respectful, and supportive campus setting.
Monitor developments in campus and student safety, including best practices, legislation, and emerging trends; ensure institutional programs, services, policies,



and procedures remain current and aligned with leading practices across the post-secondary sector.
Implement community safety programs, identify potential risks, respond to incidents, and conduct investigations related to student conduct, safety concerns, and policy violations.
Provide guidance on case management, ensure compliance with university policies and legislative requirements, and work collaboratively with campus partners and external agencies to address safety issues.
Balance proactive safety planning with responsive support and investigative processes to provide guidance on matters with institutional implications and enhance the overall campus experience.
