Planning Governance Engineer

As a Planning Governance Engineer, you will drive the development and implementation of governance frameworks, standards, and processes that enable successful project delivery and consistent, high-quality outcomes. You'll play a key role in aligning planning activities with strategic objectives, monitoring performance and risk, and championing continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a functional governance framework to support successful project delivery.
Govern quality of function’s documentation and application of Irving Shipbuilding's Quality Management System (QMS) to help ensure high quality products and compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
Develop and maintain the tools, processes, and resources that support the Framework to help ensure successful execution and realization of objectives.
Support risk identification and response to support achieving business objectives.
Manage and execute initiatives that support the components of the Governance framework applying change management principles.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Shipbuilding, Manufacturing, Construction, or related field.
Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or equivalent required.
5 to 8 years of experience in a relevant role.
ISO 9001 Certification considered an asset.
Experience in quality management, quality assurance, process management, and change management.
Positive technical aptitude, fast learner, and effective problem solver.
Strong written and oral communication skills, experience presenting and influencing leadership.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
