The ER Internship Program, or ENIP is an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills to transition into an ER setting.

Positions Details
Location: St. Joseph’s Hospital - 3001 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Tampa, FL
Status: Full Time
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Weekend requirement – every other weekend
On Call: No
Always in person
Internship Details
3 weeks of didactic and 8-16 weeks of preceptorship
Guided clinical orientation to ensure up-to-date and comprehensive care knowledge
Shift: Interns will gain experience on both day and night shift before being assigned a permanent shift
Every other weekend requirement
Commitment: This is an hours-based commitment required for the internship program specifically to the unit of hire beginning at the end of completed preceptorship hours
Requirements
Active Florida or Compact RN License
6 months or more of licensed RN experience
Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
EKG Script test will be provided at the start of the internship program; you are required to pass within 2 attempts. Failure to do so will result in being released from the internship program
Preferred
ACLS certification with the American Heart Association
1-year or more of RN experience
1-year experience in an Acute Care setting

Responsibilities and Skills
Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of ICU patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care
Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments
Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients
Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge
High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
