About the role Faire is expanding its team with a Senior Software Engineer to enhance the Insider membership program. This role focuses on developing and maintaining core services that deliver exclusive perks to retailers. You will play a key part in shaping how members experience value through discounts, free shipping, and other premium features.

What you'll do Take ownership of critical backend services for the Insider membership program, primarily using Kotlin.
Work with Data Science, Product, and Design teams to develop, test, and implement improvements to the Insider user experience.
Analyze program performance using experimentation and data analytics to increase active Insiders, GMV per Insider, and enrollment rates.
Integrate Insider benefits across various customer touchpoints, including cart, checkout, discovery, and post-order pages, to ensure members utilize their savings.
Mentor other engineers and contribute to team best practices in areas like design reviews, performance optimization, and system architecture.
Requirements At least 5 years of experience in backend systems development.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, or similar object-oriented languages.
Familiarity with distributed systems, service design, and performance tuning.
Experience integrating with machine learning-driven decision systems, experimentation frameworks, or real-time data pipelines.
Excellent communication skills and a history of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Data Scientists and Product Managers, to deliver complex systems.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
Nice to have Experience with marketplace platforms.
