What you'll do Lead the design and development of electrical systems for renewable energy projects, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Oversee the preparation and review of electrical engineering documentation, including specifications, calculations, and design drawings.
Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges and propose effective solutions.
Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on electrical engineering matters.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the engineering team.
Ensure that all electrical designs comply with relevant codes,
standards, and safety regulations.
Participate in project meetings and presentations, effectively communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that engineering deliverables are completed on schedule and within financial constraints.
Contribute to the development of proposals and bids for new projects, showcasing Enfinite's engineering capabilities.
Collaborate with procurement teams to select appropriate materials and equipment for electrical systems, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Alberta or eligibility for registration.
Strong knowledge of electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar applications.
Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical engineering and renewable energy.
Nice to have Experience with energy storage systems and microgrid design.
Knowledge of power electronics and control systems.
Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric systems.
Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within an engineering team.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Skills & tools Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP).
Strong analytical and mathematical skills for complex problem-solving.
Familiarity with simulation tools and modeling software.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
Practical notes This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
