Senior Associate, Finance & Strategy - Product Finance, Cloud & Technology Spend at DoorDash Canada. About the role We are on the lookout for a Senior Associate to take charge of analyzing and managing a significant segment of DoorDash's technology spending, particularly in the realm of cloud infrastructure. This role will require close collaboration with various teams to boost financial transparency and operational efficiency as the organization continues to expand.

Team: Finance & Strategy
What you'll do Oversee the financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis for a major portfolio of technology expenditures related to Engineering, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and research and development software.
Partner with Engineering and Cloud FinOps teams to gain insights into the factors driving cloud expenditures, distinguishing between growth-related costs and inefficiencies, while identifying opportunities for enhanced cost management.
Support the monthly closing activities in collaboration with the Accounting team, which includes generating accrual estimates, reconciling operational data with actual figures, and analyzing significant variances.
Spearhead financial planning initiatives on a quarterly and annual basis, collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate business priorities, project future requirements, and assess trade-offs.




Create and maintain detailed financial models and reports that deliver valuable insights to leadership regarding spending patterns, risks, opportunities, and overall budget performance.
Conduct thorough analyses of complex financial and operational inquiries, leveraging financial, usage, and technical data to uncover root causes and recommend actionable solutions.
Evaluate potential investments and cost-saving initiatives, quantifying their financial implications to aid stakeholders in making informed resource allocation decisions.
Improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes through enhanced data management, automation, documentation, and the integration of AI tools.
Requirements At least 4 years of relevant experience in Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;), Investment Banking, Consulting, FinOps, or a comparable analytical role, preferably within a rapidly growing tech company or a well-established organization.
Robust proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, with the capability to develop scalable models for forecasting, planning, variance analysis, and investment assessments.
Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, or financial reporting for a significant or complex area of expenditure.




Comfortable working with large datasets and adept at integrating financial data with operational metrics to extract meaningful insights.
Basic knowledge of SQL or a strong desire to learn, with an interest in utilizing data and automation for financial analysis and reporting tasks.
A curious mindset with the ability to understand technical concepts; prior experience with cloud infrastructure or technology spending is a plus but not essential.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to navigate recurring processes such as monthly closings, forecasting, and financial planning.
Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous situations, identifying key questions and structuring complex problems effectively.
Skilled at building cross-functional relationships, fostering trust, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Eagerness to learn practical applications of AI in financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.
Compensation The salary for this role ranges from $115,500 to $144,500 CAD, influenced by factors such as skills, relevant experience, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, there are opportunities for equity grants.
