Senior Data Engineer at Springfinancial.
About the role As a Senior Data Engineer at Springfinancial, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the data architecture and analytics capabilities of our organization. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support our financial products and services. This position requires a strong understanding of data engineering principles and a passion for leveraging data to drive business decisions. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and actionable.

What you'll do Design and implement robust data pipelines that facilitate the collection, processing, and storage of large datasets from various sources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data solutions.
Optimize existing data workflows to improve performance and reduce latency, ensuring timely access to critical business information.
Develop and maintain data models that support analytical needs and reporting requirements across the organization.
Monitor data quality and integrity, implementing validation checks and error handling processes to ensure accuracy.
Utilize cloud-based technologies and platforms to enhance data storage and processing capabilities, focusing on scalability and cost-effectiveness.
Create comprehensive documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering,
recommending improvements and innovations to existing practices.
Mentor junior data engineers and provide guidance on best practices in data engineering and software development.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of team standards for data engineering practices.
Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organizational policies.
Engage in troubleshooting and debugging of data-related issues, providing timely resolutions to maintain operational efficiency.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with a proven track record of building data pipelines and architectures.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, with experience in data processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Apache Flink.
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) as well as NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, particularly in relation to data storage and processing services.
Experience with data warehousing solutions and ETL processes, including tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, or similar.
Understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques, with the ability to design efficient and scalable data structures.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Robust communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have Experience with machine learning frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, is a plus.
Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker for presenting data insights.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices for data management and compliance.
Previous experience in the financial services industry or a related field is advantageous.
