We are on the lookout for a Principal Product Engineer who will take the lead in an engineering team, steering product development while also making hands‑on contributions and providing technical guidance. This position emphasizes the enhancement of development speed, code quality, and informed decision‑making through the integration of AI tools.

Engagement: Full-time, Hybrid
Compensation: CA$200,000 - CA$385,000 Total Compensation, inclusive of equity.

What you'll do - Lead a small, cross-functional engineering team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality product releases.
- Serve as the senior technical authority, taking ownership of the software architecture relevant to your team's area of responsibility.
- Actively participate in product development using technologies such as Typescript, React, or Elixir.
- Encourage the use of AI technologies to enhance delivery speed and elevate engineering standards.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in your work, engaging others to produce exceptional code.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of security, performance, and operational requirements for production-level code.
- Assess technical implementations and provide strategic advice to leadership on critical decisions.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure that the team delivers complete features and maintains high code quality.




- Champion best practices and continuously refine internal processes for the engineering team.
- Engage in the recruitment process to expand a growing engineering team.
- Mentor team members, aiding in their professional development and skill enhancement.
- Collaborate closely with the founders in a startup environment to develop products and contribute to the company's growth.
- Adapt swiftly to a dynamic work environment, responding effectively to changing priorities.
Requirements - Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional engineering teams, typically comprising 4-6 engineers.
- Proficiency in utilizing AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Extensive experience in building front-end applications using React and Typescript, or back-end systems with Elixir and Phoenix.
- Familiarity with relational database systems.
- Prior experience with Typescript and GraphQL is essential.
- Background in DevOps practices, including infrastructure management and deployment processes.
Nice to have - Experience in developing GraphQL APIs using Apollo Client and Absinthe.
- Knowledge of Vercel and Next.js frameworks.
- Understanding of Postgres database design and optimization techniques.




- Familiarity with deploying and configuring AWS services and Kubernetes using Terraform.
