This pivotal role will focus on developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental strategies across our regional operations. What you'll do Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures tailored to Broccolini's operational needs.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of job sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify potential hazards.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure that all team members are trained in HSE protocols.
Lead incident investigations, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Prepare and present HSE reports to senior management, outlining performance metrics, compliance status, and areas for improvement.
Stay updated on relevant legislation, industry standards,
and best practices to ensure that Broccolini remains compliant and competitive in the market.
Organize and facilitate safety training sessions and workshops for employees, enhancing their understanding of health and safety practices.
Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders regarding health, safety, and environmental matters.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of HSE initiatives, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure readiness in the event of an incident.
Foster a culture of accountability and safety awareness among all employees, encouraging them to take ownership of their health and safety responsibilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably within the construction or real estate sectors.
Strong knowledge of local, provincial, and federal health and safety regulations and standards.
Proven experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in HSE management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Certification in health and safety (e.g., CRSP, CSP, NEBOSH) is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have Experience in developing and implementing sustainability initiatives within a corporate setting.
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
Previous experience in risk assessment and management.
Knowledge of environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
