Position SummaryShapedown BC is a multi-disciplinary, best practice, family-centred healthy living program that provides medical, nutrition, and mental health assessment and support for children and teenagers aged 6-17 years living with obesity or overweight with associated comorbidities.The Kamloops Public Health Unit is seeking 1 Part Time Physician (family physician or pediatrician) to join the Interior Health Shapedown BC Program on a sessional basis. The physician will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to:ResponsibilitiesReview referral letters to ensure children/teens meet the eligibility criteria of the programConduct the medical intake (in-person)



with the child/teen including history and full examsParticipate in care planning with the program dietitian and mental health professionalWrite assessment reports to be sent to referring providersComplete post-program discharge reports and participate in meetings as needed with the program teamAdministrative support is provided to follow up with referring providers on consults, recent bloodwork, imaging, diagnostic results and support the team where neededTime commitment1 day (7 hours) per week, up to 32 weeks per year. Intakes are booked on Thursdays. Weeks of coverage are versatile and can be scheduled to accommodate other commitments.
