Product Engineer - Retailer Experience & Growth at Faire. About the role Faire is seeking engineers to join our Growth team to build systems that help independent retailers discover products and scale their businesses. You will work across the full stack to design experiments and features that directly impact how our customers interact with the marketplace. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and product intuition to drive growth in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $129,500 - $178,000 per year plus equity and benefits

What you'll do Lead initiatives focused on retailer acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention.
Design and implement experiments to improve key business metrics.
Partner with product, design, data science, and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities.
Collaborate with marketing to refine campaigns and technical tooling.
Analyze customer data to evaluate experiment outcomes and inform future product strategy.
Develop scalable infrastructure to support the continued expansion of the platform.
Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and system performance.
Requirements 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.




Proficiency in building backend systems or modern frontend applications.
Demonstrated history of shipping customer-facing products that deliver measurable results.
Ability to thrive in cross-functional, high-velocity teams.
Strong product instincts with a focus on user behavior and business impact.
Nice to have Experience with growth, experimentation, or marketplace platforms.
Background in designing and analyzing A/B tests.
Familiarity with product analytics tools.
Experience working on products at scale.
Experience with marketing technology or paid spend optimization.
Skills & tools Frontend: React, TypeScript, JavaScript, modern UI frameworks.
Backend: Kotlin, Java, Guice, Jersey, Hibernate.
Datastores: MySQL, CockroachDB.
Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), Docker.
APIs: HTTP, REST, JSON, Protocol Buffers.
Growth: Feature flagging systems, A/B testing frameworks, traffic ramping tools.
Practical notes Employees work in a hybrid mode, attending the office three days per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and one flex day). Staff may work remotely for up to four weeks per year.
