About the role As an Accountant at Clvgroup, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will contribute to the financial health of the organization, allowing us to make informed business decisions. Visa: Open to candidates with valid work authorization in Canada
What you'll do Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
Support the annual budgeting process by gathering and analyzing financial data to forecast future revenues and expenditures.
Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights and support for decision‑making processes.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing and filing necessary tax returns and documentation.
Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.




Conduct regular audits of financial processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to internal controls.
Assist in preparing for external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
Provide training and support to junior accounting staff as needed, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline processes, improve reporting capabilities, and enhance data accuracy.
Requirements 'Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a similar financial role.
Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.




Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently.
Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements in Canada.
Nice to have CPA designation or working towards it is a plus.
Experience in the real estate or property management sector is advantageous.
Knowledge of advanced Excel functions and data analysis tools.
Experience with financial forecasting and modeling.
Familiarity with ERP systems and their integration with accounting processes.
Skills & tools Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and software as needed.
Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Practical notes This position is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and may require occasional overtime during peak financial periods, such as month‑end and year‑end closing.
Candidates must possess valid work authorization in Canada.
The role may involve collaboration with remote teams, so flexibility in working hours may be necessary.
