What you'll do Develop and implement high-quality animation systems for characters and environmental elements in our games.
Collaborate with artists to create and refine animation assets, ensuring they align with the artistic vision of the project.
Work closely with gameplay designers to integrate animations that enhance player interactions and overall gameplay experience.
Optimize animation performance for various platforms, ensuring smooth and efficient playback in real-time environments.
Utilize industry-standard tools and software to create and modify animations, including but not limited to Maya, Blender, and Unity.
Troubleshoot and resolve animation-related issues, providing solutions that maintain the integrity of the animation pipeline.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices for animation engineering within the team.
Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in animation and gaming, bringing innovative ideas to the table.
Mentor junior team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their growth in animation engineering.
Document processes and workflows to ensure clarity and consistency within the animation team.
Collaborate with the QA team to ensure animations meet quality standards and function as intended across different scenarios.
Engage in regular team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute to project planning and execution.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Animation, Game Development, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in animation engineering or a similar role within the gaming industry.
Proficiency in animation software such as Maya, Blender, or similar tools.
Robust understanding of animation principles, rigging, and character movement.
Experience with game engines, particularly Unity or Unreal Engine, and familiarity with their animation systems.
Solid programming skills in languages such as C# or C++, with a focus on animation-related coding.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
A portfolio showcasing your animation work, including examples of character animations and gameplay integration.
Nice to have Experience with procedural animation techniques and tools.
Familiarity with motion capture technology and its integration into game animation.
Knowledge of physics-based animation systems and their application in gaming.
Previous experience in a lead or mentoring role within an animation team.
Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of game mechanics and player experience.
