What you'll do Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure integrated product development.
Conduct thorough analyses and simulations to validate designs and assess performance under various conditions.
Create detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports, to support manufacturing and quality assurance processes.
Implement design improvements based on testing results and feedback from stakeholders, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the team.
Participate in project planning and resource allocation,

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in a product development environment.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for designing and modeling mechanical components.
Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical engineering and product safety.

Nice to have Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility for registration.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.
Skills & tools Proficient in mechanical design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Familiarity with simulation tools for performance analysis, including FEA and CFD.
Solid analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
Knowledge of materials selection and manufacturing processes.
Excellent organizational skills to manage project timelines and deliverables.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead projects effectively.
