What you'll do Design and implement comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements and specifications.
Conduct thorough manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure software functionality meets established standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product features and provide feedback on usability and performance.
Analyze test results, document defects, and track issues through to resolution, ensuring timely communication with relevant stakeholders.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
Participate in code reviews and provide input on quality best practices to improve overall software development processes.
Mentor junior QA team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of quality within the team.
Stay updated on the latest testing methodologies and tools,



continuously seeking opportunities to improve testing processes and techniques.
Assist in the development of quality assurance metrics and reports to measure the effectiveness of testing efforts.
Work closely with the DevOps team to integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring seamless deployment of high-quality software.
Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, providing insights on quality-related issues and improvements.
Engage in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues, working collaboratively with development teams to implement solutions.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on both manual and automated testing.
Proficiency in testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar frameworks.
Experience with programming languages like Java, Python, or C# for test automation purposes.
Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.




Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
Knowledge of security testing practices and tools is advantageous.
Nice to have Experience with cloud-based testing environments and tools.
Familiarity with API testing and tools like Postman or SoapUI.
Knowledge of database testing and SQL for data validation purposes.
Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a QA team.
Certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE are a plus.
Skills & tools Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
Proficient in using test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices.
Knowledge of Agile project management tools and methodologies.
Practical notes This role is based in our Toronto office, and candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
The position may require occasional overtime or flexibility in hours to meet project deadlines.
