Project Manager at Broccolini About the role Broccolini is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Toronto, Ontario. In this pivotal role, you will oversee various construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. What you'll do Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met and quality standards are upheld.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Prepare and present project updates to clients and senior management, providing insights into progress, challenges, and solutions.
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best terms and ensure project success.
Implement effective communication strategies to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Analyze project performance metrics and prepare reports to identify areas for improvement and enhance future project delivery.
Mentor and guide junior project staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, complete, and stored in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and forecasting future financial needs.
Address any client concerns or changes in project scope promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction and maintaining strong client relationships.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools,
such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace and adapt to changing project demands.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
Nice to have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
Experience with sustainable building practices and green construction methods.
Familiarity with design-build project delivery methods.
Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
Previous experience in client-facing roles, enhancing customer satisfaction and project outcomes.
Skills & tools Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
Strong analytical skills for budget management and project performance evaluation.
Excellent negotiation skills for contract discussions and stakeholder management.
Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or Buildertrend.
Ability to utilize scheduling tools to manage timelines effectively.
Practical notes This position is based in Toronto, Ontario, and may require occasional travel to project sites within the region.
The role may involve working outside of regular business hours to meet project deadlines or address urgent issues.
Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada and may need to provide proof of eligibility.
