Contrôleur de satellites LEO at Telesat. About the role Join the LEO Satellite Operations team to monitor and manage the Telesat Lightspeed constellation. You will work in a 24/7 operations center, executing flight procedures and responding to system anomalies in real time. This role requires close collaboration with flight operations engineers to ensure the health and performance of our next-generation satellite network.

What you'll do Execute all planned and unplanned operational tasks for the Lightspeed satellite fleet.
Monitor telemetry data to identify and resolve performance discrepancies or hardware malfunctions.
Manage orbit and attitude maneuvers by preparing and uploading commands.
Maintain and troubleshoot ground control equipment and satellite control software.
Document all technical issues, system outages, and emergency responses through detailed reporting.
Coordinate with engineering teams to validate system updates and support equipment.
Requirements Minimum 3-year technologist diploma in electrical, electronic, or communications engineering (or equivalent).
Ability to maintain high alertness and situational awareness in a 24/7 shift environment.




Strong aptitude for real-time decision-making and following complex technical procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently or lead a small team.
Must possess or be eligible to obtain CGP security clearance.
Nice to have Familiarity with satellite control systems.
Foundational knowledge of satellite subsystem design and orbital mechanics.
Proficiency in French (written and spoken).
Experience with programming or software development.
Skills & tools Satellite control software and custom analysis tools.
Real-time telemetry monitoring and alarm response.
Technical documentation and reporting.
Multitasking and time management in a high-pressure setting.
Practical notes This position involves shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Shift premiums and overtime pay are provided according to operational requirements.
