Senior Frontend Engineer, Conversions at HelloFresh. About the role HelloFresh is seeking a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Conversions team in Toronto, Ontario.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for enhancing our customer experience through innovative frontend solutions that drive engagement and conversions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to develop and implement features that not only meet business objectives but also provide a seamless user experience.

What you'll do Design and implement responsive web applications that enhance user experience and drive conversions for HelloFresh's digital platforms.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and mockups into functional and visually appealing web interfaces.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, ensuring a smooth experience across various devices and browsers.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to fellow engineers to maintain high-quality code standards.
Work closely with product managers to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements and actionable tasks.
Utilize A/B testing and analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of recent features and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in frontend development, and advocate for the adoption of new technologies that can enhance our products.
Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of learning and growth within the team.
Troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to the user experience.
Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives,



and daily stand-ups to ensure alignment and progress within the team.
Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between frontend and backend systems.
Document code and development processes to maintain clarity and facilitate onboarding of new team members.
Requirements A minimum of 5 years of experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on building responsive web applications.
Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, along with experience in modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Solid understanding of web performance optimization techniques and best practices for building scalable applications.
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have Familiarity with backend technologies such as Node.js or Python, and experience working with RESTful APIs.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for inclusive web design.
Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress for frontend testing.
Understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to frontend development.
