What you’ll do Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive innovative projects in drug discovery and development, contributing to the advancement of biopharmaceuticals.
Utilize your expertise in protein science to design and execute experiments that lead to the identification of therapeutic candidates.
Participate in the development and optimization of assays and methodologies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of drug candidates.
Analyze complex data sets using bioinformatics tools to derive insights that inform project direction and strategy.
Engage in the preparation of technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders and team members effectively.
Support the manufacturing process by ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Actively participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and professional development.
Contribute to the preparation of grant applications and proposals to secure funding for research projects.
Requirements A degree in a relevant field such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, with a strong foundation in protein science.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in drug discovery or related areas, showcasing a proven track record of successful project contributions.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including but not limited to protein purification, characterization, and assay development.
Strong analytical skills, with experience in data analysis and interpretation using bioinformatics software.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and quality assurance practices in a biopharmaceutical context.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
A proactive attitude and a passion for innovation,
with a desire to contribute to the advancement of drug development processes.
Nice to have Experience with machine learning applications in drug discovery and development.
Familiarity with laboratory management systems and electronic lab notebooks.
Previous involvement in cross‑functional teams and experience in project management.
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field, demonstrating a deeper level of expertise.
Skills & tools Solid understanding of protein chemistry and biophysics principles.
Proficiency in using bioinformatics tools and software for data analysis, including but not limited to Python, R, or similar programming languages.
Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques relevant to protein analysis and drug development.
Familiarity with statistical analysis and experimental design principles.
Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Competence in using project management tools to track progress and communicate effectively with team members.
Practical notes This position is based in Vancouver, and candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
