What you'll do Oversee the daily operations of the parts department, ensuring all processes are efficient and effective.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking parts to meet customer demand and minimize excess.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and favorable pricing.
Collaborate with service technicians and sales teams to identify parts needs and ensure availability for repairs and customer orders.
Implement best practices for inventory management, including regular audits and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
Train, mentor, and supervise parts department staff, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging professional development.
Develop and analyze departmental budgets, tracking expenses and revenue to ensure financial goals are met.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints regarding parts,
providing prompt and effective resolutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
Utilize software systems for parts management, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting for inventory and sales.
Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to keep the parts department competitive and responsive to market changes.
Prepare and present reports on parts sales, inventory levels, and departmental performance to senior management.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards within the parts department.
Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a parts management role, preferably within the automotive industry.
Strong understanding of automotive parts and their applications, with the ability to identify and source parts effectively.
Proven leadership skills, with experience in managing a team and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers, suppliers, and team members.
Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to analyze data and generate reports to inform decision-making and improve departmental performance.
Customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to providing exceptional service and resolving issues efficiently.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Eligibility to work in Canada, with open to hiring Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Nice to have Experience with automotive dealership operations and familiarity with manufacturer parts systems.
Certification in automotive parts management or related field.
Bilingual abilities in English and French would be an asset.
Previous experience in a retail or wholesale parts environment.
