About the role Scalepad is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, British Columbia. What you'll do Design and implement scalable software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and enhance user experience.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define project requirements and specifications.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to junior developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate new ideas into our software development processes.
Participate in agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
Mentor and guide junior team members,



helping them grow their technical skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with QA engineers to develop and execute test plans, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality software.
Document software designs, processes, and technical specifications for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Engage with clients to gather feedback and understand their requirements, translating them into actionable development tasks.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools, enhancing team efficiency and productivity.
Requirements A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on web applications.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, with a solid understanding of object‑oriented programming principles.
Experience with front‑end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular.
Familiarity with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written,



with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to have Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools to streamline development and deployment processes.
Previous experience in a startup environment or fast‑paced tech company.
Contributions to open‑source projects or a strong portfolio showcasing your development work.
