What you'll do Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Oversee the month-end closing process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.
Assist in the preparation of annual financial audits, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs and strategic initiatives.
Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
Support the implementation of new accounting software and tools to streamline processes and improve reporting capabilities.
Mentor and train junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and career development.
Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is highly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Experience with tax compliance and reporting is an asset.
