About the role Broccolini is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Ottawa, Ontario. What you'll do Collaborate closely with project managers to assist in planning and executing construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and meeting minutes, to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
Monitor project progress and performance metrics, providing regular updates to project managers and stakeholders regarding status and any potential risks.
Assist in the preparation of project reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key milestones and achievements.
Organize and participate in project meetings, ensuring that agendas are set, minutes are recorded, and action items are tracked and followed up on.
Support the procurement process by assisting in the preparation of bid documents and evaluating proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.
Help manage project budgets by tracking expenses and ensuring that all financial documentation is accurate and up to date.
Foster a positive team environment by promoting effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for process improvements within project management practices and contribute to the development of best practices.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the project lifecycle, promoting a culture of safety on-site.
Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members, sharing knowledge and resources to help them succeed in their roles.
Requirements A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in project coordination or a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar applications.
Familiarity with construction processes, methodologies,
and terminology is essential.
Robust analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and propose effective solutions.
A proactive approach to work, demonstrating initiative and a willingness to take on new challenges.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
Nice to have Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) would be an asset.
Experience with cost estimation and budget management in construction projects.
Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Familiarity with sustainability practices and green building initiatives.
Bilingualism in English and French is a plus, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
Skills & tools Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
Experience with construction management software and tools for project tracking and reporting.
Strong understanding of scheduling techniques and project management methodologies.
Ability to utilize communication tools effectively to facilitate collaboration among team members.
Practical notes This position is based in Ottawa, Ontario, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
